Have you ever laid on the green grass under the sun

Have you ever laid down in the green grass, under the hot sun, partly seeking shade under a dense tree? Stretched out on the cold turf, the grass blades tingling in places, their dampness offering a welcome contrast against the warmth of the rays, your head rested in the dark shade, a few degrees cooler than the rest of you, an elbow carefully placed to block any direct sunlight to the eyes. As you gaze through half opened, almost drowsy eyes, you see the leaves on the contours of the thick shade, the light reflecting on the leaves rendering them a lighter shade of green, swaying in the light breeze, sounding a rhythmic rumbling, and all you can hear is their susuration in tandem with the wind, at times complimented by the cheery chirp of a bird perched on a branch somewhere in the dense foliage. And past them, in your horizon, there is nothing but the light blue infinite of the sky. As you slant sideways, you see the grass blades, all individual, magnified, not anymore a unified whole, the green speckled by varying shades of brown of dried fallen foliage, bokehing out 'real' life continuing on in the distance, as you carefully watch an ant maneuvering itself on the edge of a grass blade. Here, in this oasis, right in the middle of the everyday, and yet so very far away, life conducts itself at a leisurely pace, your mind wanders still, but slowly, there is no rush anymore, there is no where to go, nowhere to be, the worries and thoughts of the past and future take a break in the present, as you absent mindedly explore the veins of a dried leaf against the sunlight, amazed at the intricate perfection of nature, finally scrunching it up slowly, or as you tear little slivers of grass stem with an uncanny precision, relishing the unexplainable satisfaction of the process; all of this activity giving way to a brief siesta, where you're one with the elements. Quenched and rejuvenated, you then continue on with your journey, as you slowly sit up straight, the world sharpening back into focus, as you recalibrate to adjust back to the sounds and stimuli of the everyday.
